The Jacobus Center at the Cortland County Health Department receives prestigious 2009 Aster Award for television ad created by Keegan Associates Advertising Agency.

Cortland: An animated television ad for Family Planning Services provided by the Jacobus Center has been awarded a Bronze Award in the annual Aster Awards national competition for 2009. The ad was one of two animated television ads created by Keegan Associates for the Jacobus Center. The other ad was for Emergency Contraception services.

“These animated ads were a creative solution to important community services and required a true team effort from the Agency and our entire staff at the Center, commented Elaine Lambert, Executive Director, Jacobus Center.

The Aster Awards is one of the largest competitions of its kind hosted by Marketing Healthcare Today and Creative Images, Inc. This elite national program recognizes outstanding healthcare professionals for excellence in their advertising and marketing efforts.

The 2009 Aster Awards competition consisted of approximately 3,000 entries from across the United States. Entries must score at least in the top 85% to receive an award. Judging criteria includes creativity, layout and design, functionality, message effectiveness, production quality and overall appeal.

Entries in the Aster Awards were judged by a diverse panel of healthcare marketing experts nationally. All winners are posted on the Aster Awards’ website (www.AsterAwards.com), as well as published in Marketing Healthcare Today, a national healthcare marketing magazine.

Gold Awards – Score of 95 – 99 (top 5% in the nation)
Silver Awards – Score of 90 – 94 (top 12% in the nation)
Bronze Awards – Score of 85 – 89 (top 16% in the nation)
